Aspen Ladd began her journey to combat sports at age of 14. Along with BJJ, she also trained in boxing, wrestling, and kickboxing. When she was 18, she made her amateur debut at WCFC. Ladd gained momentum from this victory and then went on to a three-fight win streak at Ultimate Reno Combat finishing her opponents inside the first round of all fights. Following that, she travelled to WCFC to win again, beating Leslie Rodriguez in a unanimous decision. Aspen initially defeated Silvia Babyghian, before heading to face Maddy Simmons at WCFC 9 in which she took on Cynthia Calvillo.
