Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings in the Women's National Basketball Association. She played for Notre Dame Fighting Irish in college, before she was selected as the fifth pick overall by the Wings in the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale hails from Milwaukee Wisconsin native born to Yolanda Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale was her 26-year-old brother, and Dare Ogunbowale, 20 years of age. She was the youngest in her family and her parents spoilt her the most. Her father Gregory was posted in the Nigerian Army for quite some time. Ogunbowale has a thriving family background. Ogunbowale has won gold medals in the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship as well as the 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship, as well as the 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship. The USA Youth Olympic Team was announced as the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team 7 July 2014. Ogunbowale has also been selected to be part of the ACC All-Freshman Team for her first collegiate campaign. Kobe Bryant congratulated her after shooting a number of big shots in the NCCA Tournament.
